Sponsorship: Sponsorship by an approved Temporary Activities Sponsor is required
Occupational Trainees: Nomination by sponsor required for activities such as:
- Training for registration, membership, or licensing requirements
- Training in occupations listed for the 407 Training Visa
- Practical experience, research, or observation for overseas qualification
- Training supported by a government agency or home government
- Professional Development: Requires working overseas in a management or professional position; primarily classroom training in relevant skills
- Visa Conditions: The length of the visa is determined based on the training required; grants entry and stay period up to two years
- Visa Grant: Allows travel to and entry into Australia after grant; stay period begins either on entry date or visa grant date
- Employer Nomination: Employer nomination is required (sole traders or individuals cannot nominate)
- Work Conditions: Condition 8102: Main applicant must not engage in work unrelated to the training specified Condition 8104: Secondary applicants must not work more than 40 hours per fortnight
- Visa Processing Time: Approximately 71 days to 4 months; bridging visa may be available if current visa is expiring
